Grim, Alvin, thanks for the great comments!

Grim, that's the cool thing with creativity, right? That's C.Kane's creativity inspirations will be different from yours! Neat that digital photos are great for you! I agree with you about naps - weekend naps are superb, and a walk is da best.

Alvin, coooool! Yes, if you like Murakami, you'll love I.B.Singer. I agree with you about becoming creative when seeing great works. Thanks for the photo comment - I'll aim to update monthly or seasonally. Best!

Senia, I love Haruki Murakami! I can't believe you do too! :D

I become creative when I look at other creative works, art, drawings, architecture, photography, writing. Good work inspires good work.

I love her #1 too: stop watching television! Glad I tossed the idiot box, it annoyed me too much. I do like to watch the odd movie now and then (I love stories in any way, shape or form) but no mindless channelsurfing for me.

I don't agree with her dislike of digital photos. I find I've become far more creative with photos and digital art since I own a digital camera. I suppose it's also very personal...the things that work and the things that don't. For example, she recommends keeping a journal with pen & paper, not on the computer. My husband hates writing with pen and paper, he finds it hampers his stream of thoughts because his hands are too slow but he's a very fast typer. And a great writer IMO.

I find I'm most creative when I slowly drift out of a mid-afternoon nap. My best blog posts ("Future" for example http://grimo1re.wordpress.com/2006/10/15/future/ ) have been written after a nap. Naps are magic!
So are walks, I love taking a simple neighbourhood walk with my husband. We hammer out the best ideas when walking.
