That’s it. Since we talked about Web 2.0 briefly today, the question is:
What are the best web applications you’ve seen recently?
Some of my answers:
* www.nowthen.com – Collect your history starting from today by emailing the site cell phone pictures of yourself and short text messages.
* I like myspace for musicians.
* Blogs, blogs, and more blogs. I’m a fan of great blogs. Dave Seah, Kathy Sierra, Evelyn, Alvin, Chris, Dave Shearon, Anna, Seth, Logic+Emotion, ConsumingAmbitions, news at PPND, SharpBrains, Cognitive Daily, photo of the day.
What do you think?!?! :)
Hmm… right up my alley with this question :) My favorite/best Web 2.0 applications that I have actually found useful…
> Basecamp (www.basecamphq.com) is great for project management/collaboration
> Flickr (www.flickr.com) as a backup of my photos, and for sharing photos with friends/family…
> Google Calendar (calendar.google.com) … hands down the best web calendar I’ve ever used. It’s even better now that I can use it with my own domain as well! :)
Chris, speaking of calendar, I am a very big fan of gmail. I do IM there. I like how it stores and displays messages. I like my rss feeds across the top. When I email a friend about a meeting, it offers to put that in calendar and to map that for me. I like how it connects – not just me and my applications but also me and friends.
Hey, I made your list! :)
I luuuurrve Gmail, it kicks all other mail apps’ asses hands down. If you haven’t already, I’d turn you to Google Analytics, free webstats for your blog.
I’m pretty boring: Gmail, Flickr, Google Analytics, the personalised Google homepage (hmmmm I do seem to be a Google fan) but I also love WordPress: they rock!
Thanks Senia for the mention! :-)
I really like Flickr because it creates a new way of meeting interesting people and ideas. The UI and web parts are pretty cool too, but it’s how Flickr takes an ubiquitous kind of media—photos—and creates a nuturing environment where everyone can share and form groups. It’s really quite astonishing. It’s probably my favorite Web 2.0 app period. I also like and use Basecamp, but it feels a little too nickel-and-dimey to me. However, I continue to pay for it because it’s a solid product, albeit one that doesn’t quite deliver that “ooo” feeling anymore.
