Just as you think you have something going well and straight and regular, it’s time to shake it up! Really. How long can you keep the same straight, regular going – and have it be enjoyable to you or to your colleagues, your readers…?

It’s got to always have a lot of pizazz! A lot. And you may come up with ideas that don’t work, but you may come up with a lot that do! And you get into the habit of creating newness, creating life.

In the comments are some ways I’m thinking of playing with newness on the Positive Psychology News Daily site.

In the comments are some ways I’m thinking of playing with newness on the Positive Psychology News Daily site.

    Newer, More-More-Fun Content!

This is the part I’m really excited about!

    * PRACTICAL MONDAYS. Invite Guest Authors to write about Positive Psychology in practice – applications to business, education, coaching, HR, etc.

    * RESEARCH WEDNESDAYS. Invite Guest Researchers to submit articles online about their latest research.

    * QUESTION FRIDAYS. The same question to three authors or three guest answers.

    * AUTHOR SATURDAYS. Have an author highlighted – a bio of the author, and some questions to the author, including, “What are some of the most interesting results in Positive Psychology?” “What was the most surprising result when you studied Positive Psychology last year?” “What new research that you’ve heard about has been the most exciting for you?!”

More Fun to Read Look, Simpler Functionality

    * Photo of each author even on the summary home page

    * Add the MAPP ’07 header in, and add the plugin for header randomness

    * Create an easy to read Author’s Page will all author bios below that

    * Play with font and link colors to be friendlier

    * Insert a fifth small column on the right for info – include where visitors are from and other fun information, like polls

    * Email to authors how we can all use polls!

    * Start commenting on related pos psych blogs because there’s a lot of good stuff out there!

    * Format TOC and sitemap and archives better inlcuding KB’s super monthly formatting.

Do you have other suggestions? Please tell!
