Q: What’s your recent self-challenge?

Welcome to Question Friday! We’ve been talking about self-regulation and about streeeetching yourself toward a challenge.

Where are you excitingly pushing yourself? Where are you going to grow? Where are you most alive? Where are you challenging yourself enough to create that “healthy stress” that I love so much – that combination of anticipation and what-if-ness.

Q: What’s your recent intense self-challenge?

I actually think today’s question may be too personal to post an answer as a comment (or you can always post anonymously and just use my email address for the required field – it’s in the upper right under “Email.” If you find it too personal to answer outloud, simply skip the comments section this Friday. Just ponder it for a moment.

Be well, great weekend,
S.

  1. How am I pushing myself? To achieve the life I’ve always wanted, and didn’t even know I could achieve… through clarifying my desires, my values, my strengths, and creating a road map to get myself there.

  2. Senia! I just fumbled a challenge yesterday!

One of my goals this year is to overcome my fear of talking to strangers. It might sound weird, but then I realized the fear is even weirder – totally irrational – but I still had it!

So I decided to tackle it this year, but yesterday when I had a striking moment to go up and talk to someone who was making eyes at me – I didn’t. Been feeling pretty funky about it ever since, but it did make me realize I have to push myself further than I think to get this barrier over with.

  3. Keep streeeetching, Nick! Sounds just great.

Pushing farther next time is ok, Alvin. Some things are there just to prod us in the right directions! Speaking to strangers is a wonderful challenge.
